DANVILLE, IL-- The Vermilion County Bobcats of the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) have signed defenseman Nick Papandrea to a Training Camp Agreement for the 2021-22 season.
Papandrea, 26, is a versatile scorer from the blueline. A five-year player at Indiana Tech, Papandrea totaled 84 points in 138 collegiate games with the Warriors.
"Nick is a smooth skater," said Bobcats head coach Mike Watt. "He makes a good first pass, he can jump into the play...he can really help out on the back end."
Papandrea played junior hockey with the NA3HL's Toledo Cherokee in 2015-16, earning a commitment to Indiana Tech. His best season came in 2019-20, potting 13 goals and adding 15 assists in 30 games. He was recognized as a First Team All-Conference selection and a member of the WHAC All-Academic team. His final season ended in the ACHA National Semi-Final.
Vermilion County Bobcats season tickets are on sale now here. The Bobcats will play 56 games in the SPHL this season, 28 of them on home ice at David S. Palmer Arena in Danville. Questions can be directed to info@vcbobcats.com.
